Jen Etix (DOB: 1/1/67, Hospital Number: MS855577) is a lady admitted to Ward 14 with abdominal pain and diarrhoea. On doing her routine bloods you find that she has potassium of 2.8. On the previous day they had potassium of 3.2. You initially prescribed oral potassium replacement, but she did not tolerate it. Jen has had an ECG, which showed no acute changes of concern. She has a very poor appetite and is managing sips of water. She continues to have diarrhoea. She also appears quite dry, but the rest of her U&E’s are normal. She is allergic to atorvastatin, which causes a rash.
Please prescribe the initial intravenous fluid management on the fluid chart here. Feel free to use your university's examination stationery where appropriate.
